Foodbank of S.B. County Seeks Volunteers; Rummage Sale to Benefit Starr King Parent-Child Workshop

• The Foodbank of S.B. County, a long-established nonprofit helping to end hunger in our area, is looking for volunteers to help with its many widely utilized food programs in the South County. Volunteers help with special events, outreach programs, food drives, food delivery, and other tasks. Call 967-5741.

• This Friday and Saturday, October 16-17, the Starr King Parent-Child Workshop will host a rummage sale to raise funds for its nonprofit preschool program for disadvantaged families. The rummage sale will have great deals on a range of different items, including clothing, household items, books, antiques, sports equipment, and more. The sale will be held on the grounds of the Unitarian Society (1535 Santa Barbara St.) from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday. Call 966-1325.
