Ugo Melchiori Dies

Construction Company Founder Active in Community

Ugo L. Melchiori, founder of Melchiori Construction Company, died December 12, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Melchiori was born in Italy in 1940 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1958. He began as a construction apprentice of D’Alfonso & Son in 1959, going on to form G&M business partnership in 1972 and finally Melchiori Construction in 1989. He formed solid customer relationships due to his integrity and solid work ethic. Melchiori also supported numerous community organizations in Santa Barbara and in his native Italy, including serving on the boards of Sansum Clinic and the Italian-American Foundation. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Mark; and daughter, Linda.
