Haiti and Italy will come together in a special event this weekend in a benefit for the still-devastated post-earthquake Grace Children’s Hospital in Port-au-Prince. On Sunday, October 24, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m., the First United Methodist Church at Anapamu and Garden will be the site for three-seatings of an Italian feast catered by Via Maestra 42. The buffet-style menu will feature sopressata salame alla rustica, fresh tomato and mozzarella salad alla Caprese, bresaola carpaccio con salsina al limone, both organic greens and organic rucola salads, and then the pastas Via Maestra 42 is known for: pumpkin ravioli with butter and sage and meat lasagna. The meal will not only close with the sweetest of dolces, including Italian cookies, but with peace of mind, as you’ll know that 100 percent of the funds raised will help those most needy in Haiti.
