At least a couple of the five defendants—Andrew Baldarez, David Martinez, Jonathon Alonzo, Michele Flores-Murillo, and Imelda Guevara—accused in the murder of Baldemar Leal, 22, on De la Vina Street in February 2009, will be filing a motion to sever their case. The severance would mean the cases are tried separately from one another, as opposed to all at the same time. The motion will be heard by Judge Frank Ochoa on 1/31.
