<em>Daily Sound</em> Manager Passes Away

Longtime advertising executive John Leonard, who was most recently the general manager of the Daily Sound, died on 8/24 after a bout with cancer. He was 65. A well-known and well-liked golf aficionado, Leonard went to the daily after 20 years at the News-Press, where he had several different positions, including director of sales and marketing. Publisher Jeramy Gordon said Leonard was “instrumental in the success of the Daily Sound,” both in terms of helping the paper determine its advertising value and in mentoring and caring for the people there. “We’re going to miss him,” Gordon said.
