Wired Weekend 2-Day Student Filmmaking Challenge

Thu Mar 29, 2012 | 09:16am

Open to high school and college students in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. Participants receive a partial script on Friday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m. They have two days to finish writing, choose locations, collaborate with actors, direct scenes and edit their 6-minute masterpieces. Each team is lead by a high school or college student. The other team participants may be students or the general public, so long as they are amateur filmmakers.

The short films are turned in Sunday, April 29, and the following week are judged by local production professionals. All the films will screen Saturday, May 12, at Allan Hancock College. First prize is $500, second is $250. Go to www.wiredweekend.com for entry forms and more information.
