It seems like we only hear about our street intersections when a local citizen is unhappy about them. I would like to reverse that by extending heartfelt appreciation to our Santa Barbara City Council, our city administration, and our street planners for the recent improvements to Modoc Road at Portesuello Avenue.
As an intersection heavily trafficked by cars, bicycles, and pedestrians, this upgrade was sorely needed. I’m glad for the middle-school students, the parents who drive them, and all the rest of us who have to deal with the bottleneck traffic twice a day. The new lighting makes me feel much safer after dark. I could not imagine a better solution. Well done, Santa Barbara!
