City Hall Going Quiet for the Holidays

Thu Dec 20, 2012 | 12:00am

Santa Barbara City Hall will go dark and cease most of its functions on Friday, December 21, and reopen for business Wednesday, January 2. Police and fire services will remain open, as will the libraries — except on observed holidays — the city golf course, and waterfront. Water, trash, and sewer bill payments will still be processed in the interim, but no water service will be cut off in that time. Typically, the city shuts off 200 water customers a month due to late payments. Most city workers will use accrued vacation time during the days City Hall is dark.
