The road map that will dictate how the Gaviota Coast is visited, inhabited, preserved, and developed for decades to come cleared a major stepping stone last month as the Santa Barbara County Planning Commission finished hammering out the revised plan and will send it to the Board of Supervisors so the county can initiate environmental review. The board is scheduled to vet the 150-page document in the next two months, and the environmental impact report will take about a year to complete.
