So, since several local citizens’ voices were ignored about removal of excess sediment in our reservoirs, I must expose an even deeper concern of extreme vegetation growth in our water basins. If you have driven by Cachuma Lake recently, you must have noticed the forest growing in the empty portions of the lake. If and when water returns, this vegetation will ultimately be turned into a concoction of soggy mulch and basically crap that our water filters will not be able to process properly. Think about that. Is it not better to deal with this now, albeit at a very high cost, rather than later at an extremely high cost?
