Supriya Yelimeli has been moonlighting as an intern for The Indy‘s news department, covering stories from rappers People Under The Stairs to justice John Paul Stevens. The UCSB second-year communications major told us she tends to spend the rest of her “waking moments at the Daily Nexus in a bunker under Storke Tower.” Last May she said she found a love for stories on human empowerment and resistance after helping report a 13-hour sit-in by survivors of sexual assault at UCSB.
