3/24-3/25: College Baseball: USC at UCSB: After sweeping Hartford and Connecticut the last two weekends, UCSB is ready for a Southern California showdown. The Gauchos, ranked No. 22 by USA Today with a 15-3 record, will play the first two of three games against USC (10-9) on their home diamond. Their starting pitchers will be junior Shane Bieber (3-1, 3.55 ERA) and freshman Noah Davis (1-0, 3.03). Leading them at the plate are catcher Dempsey Grover (.422 average) and designated hitter Austin Bush (.370), whose three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth toppled UConn last Friday. The Gauchos went 2-0 against USC in the 2015 regular season, but the Trojans had the last word, a 12-3 victory in the NCAA Lake Elsinore Regional. 3pm. Caesar Uyesaka Stadium, UCSB. $5-$8.
