The American Quarter Horse Journal, Amarillo – Dewayne Copus of Santa Barbara, California, captured the first place Super-Select title in reining at the 2012 Adequan Select American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show on Wednesday, August 29 in Amarillo.

School Board Endorses Prop. 38

The school board voted 3-1 to endorse Prop. 38, civil rights attorney Mollie Munger’s revenue measure that would provide schools more money with fewer purse strings than the governor’s competing measure — Prop. 30 — which the board had also voted to endorse at its previous meeting.

Schools No Longer Running Deficit

The classrooms are overflowing, students and teachers are saddled with furlough days, and future budget projections are precariously uncertain.
