Copus showed the American Quarter Horse, Crome Plated Step, who is a 2005 brown gelding owned by Copus Performance Horses Inc. of Santa Barbara, California. Crome Plated Step, sired by Wimpys Little Step and out of Crome Kist Dun It, was bred by Regina De La Madrid of Beverly Hills, California.

Launched this year, AQHA is recognizing the top three Super-Select competitors in every class at the Select World Show. Super-Select is a new recognition for exhibitors age 70 and over. Exhibitors winning the Super-Select division receive a plaque and the achievement will appear on the official records of the horse and exhibitor.

AQHA is celebrating the 10th year of the Adequan Select World. Adequan Select World is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse exhibitors, ages 50 and over, around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. The 1,273 entries at this year’s event, representing competitors from 40 of the United States, Argentina, Canada and Sweden, are competing for 43 world championships. The show is being held August 24 – September 1 in Amarillo at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.
