SPEAKERS
David Becker, Executive Director, Center for Elections Innovation & Research, will discuss the redistricting requirements of the Voting Rights Act and local ordinances and factors that must be considered in drawing new maps.
Glenn Morris and Megan Turley, Chair and Vice Chair of the Santa Barbara County Citizens Independent Redistricting Commission, will discuss redistricting in Santa Barbara County and the processes to be followed for drawing new maps.
Ted Anagnoson, Ph.D., Visiting Professor at UCSB and Professor Emeritus, Cal State Los Angeles, will talk about recent research on redistricting efforts and what Political Science professors are saying.
Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be provided. This FREE Community Forum will also be live-streamed on the League of Women Voters Facebook page (@LWVSB) and recorded for later viewing. Recordings in both English and Spanish will be posted on the League’s website at lwvsantabarbara.org.
