This week on Poodle Radio, the official radio program of the Independent, Colin Marshall and Ben Preston are joined by James Donelan, UCSB lecturer on writing and literature, author of Poetry and the Romantic Musical Aesthetic, and the Indy‘s chief classical music critic. Donelan discusses the Santa Barbara Symphony’s performance on Saturday, January 23rd, which he reviewed in the paper, as well as the condition of the classical music-loving Santa Barbaran, which turns out to be favorable indeed.
Also featured in the program is a conversation between Indy managing editor Michelle Drown and well-known film actress Sandra Bullock, the first in a series of cinematically-centered Poodle Radio discussions as the city gears up for the 25th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The show closes with a short chat about what expensive activities the Republican party has been up to in Santa Barbara lately, as well as an update on locals’ efforts to lend a hand in Haiti.
