From my vantage point, one of the best ways to really see Santa Barbara’s El Desfile Histórico, also known as the Fiesta Historical Parade, is through the lens of the Independent’s photographers and writers who focus in on nuances and interesting details that are otherwise easy to miss.
Photographer Ingrid Bostrom is especially great at crowd shots and tiny elements that capture these moments — from the bright confetti on the ground and in people’s hair to the joy on a tiny flower girl’s face, and the embroidered detail on a costume, Ingrid’s photos are easy to spot for their sensitivity and intentional attention to details.
