Back in May, a new commuter train entered the station connecting Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties during peak hours. Join S.B. Indy reporter Elaine Sanders as she rides from Ventura to work, testing out the new service.
The morning service leaves Simi Valley at 6:14 a.m. making stops in Moorpark, Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, and ending in Goleta at 8:11 a.m. The return service leaves the Goleta station at 4:25 p.m. and arrives back in Simi Valley by 6:24 p.m. For more information about current train schedules and booking, visit www.pacificsurfliner.com.
This new service is a 12-month pilot program, meaning that if the 200 riders a day target is not met, the service will fade away once again.
