First on this week’s Poodle Radio, it’s a conversation about state-of-the-art computer hacking — and how to use it to fight state-of-the-art computer hacking — with Indy Senior Editor Matt Kettman, author of this week’s cover story on UCSB’s Computer Security Group. Joining Colin and Matt are Richard Kemmerer, Giovanni Vigna, and Christopher Kreugel from the Computer Security Group for a discussion about how the Group came together, how they’re teaching computer science students the ins and outs of computer security, and where and how the existing means to keep our data safe have become vulnerable to malicious internet whiz kids (and malicious internet whiz adults alike) the world over.

Then, Indy Executive Editor (and author of the show’s namesake Angry Poodle Barbecue column) Nick Welsh visits the studio to talk about the 46 candidates vying for the one vacant seat on the Santa Barbara City council, the mechanics behind how one will eventually be selected, and what’s at stake in the deal. Tracks organized this week by Pop Culture Editor Aly Comingore include selections from Little Owl, the Growlers, and Tommy & the High Pilots. You can tune into Poodle Radio live every Tuesday morning from 8-9 a.m. on KCSB, 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara or on KCSB’s webcast at KCSB.org.
