Dr. Emanuel “Manny” Levine
A WWII veteran and Optometrist, born June 24, 1924, Dr. Emanuel “Manny” Levine died at 88 on May 11 of 2013.
Manny Levine trained as a B-29 navigator and was in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1945. In 1946, he married Lenore Mildred Lieberman and the couple had four sons. He practiced optometry in Trenton, N.J. for over thirty years. He keep his office open in Downtown Trenton, even after many others left the downtown, until he retired in the 1980‘s.
He lived with his wife at Leisure World in Laguna Woods, Calif. and Coconut Creek, FL for many happy years. In April 2008, Manny moved to Newport Beach, Calif. to receive medical care and be closer to his sons.
Manny Levine is survived by four sons (Marc from Santa Barbara CA, Arthur, William and Steve), five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife, Lenore M. Levine, died after a battle with cancer in January 1999.
Manny loved his visits to Santa Barbara and eating at IHOP. He so wanted to live to 100 but enjoyed the many years he lived.
