Janice Monet Cosentino
Janice Monet Cosentino, 73, of Santa Barbara, CA passed away peacefully at home October 15, 2018. She was born in Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC, but called Santa Barbara her home where she lived for more than 4 decades. She is survived by her daughters Sophia and Angela, and her beloved grandchildren, Evelyn, Clara, Kyra, and baby Henry who is due in January, plus many other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hulet and Leona Scott, and her brother, Bruce Scott, who we lost just two years ago.
Janice was co-owner of Gold’s Gym in Santa Barbara and Goleta for 18 years. She thought of her coworkers as family and thoroughly enjoyed her time with them, helping host many company offsites, holiday parties and BBQ’s. In her semi-retirement she did some part time bookkeeping, enjoyed working in her garden, dinners with family, shopping, going on walks with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was an integral part of raising them and will continue to be an influence on their lives as they draw upon all she taught them.
Each day these last few weeks she would wake up with a deep appreciation for the life she lived, emotionally filled with love, and of course some sadness.
We cannot express enough our incredible heartbreak and sorrow, but also feel honored and lucky to have had these years together.
She will forever be in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the staff of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Ridley Tree Cancer Center. A special thanks to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care for their loving care and guidance.
A private memorial to be held.
