Barbara Calista Nimmo

Date of Birth

June 9, 1948

Barbara Calista Nimmo left us on January 6, 2022, after a year-long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was surrounded by her very special wife Jadi Gosnell and close friends. Barbara was a life-time resident of Santa Barbara. She loved to travel, visit museums, go to plays and concerts. In years past she played tennis and enjoyed watching the Grand Slams.

Barbara’s passion was creating gardens and with the help of her guys who are like family to her she was able to create beauty and sanctuaries for her clients which she also did at home for herself and her sweetie. In addition, she managed several properties and believed in giving her clients the utmost service.

Barbara touched so many people with her sweet and kind personality. She was loved and respected during her time here and the void she leaves is vast.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father Dr. John Nimmo and mother Barbara Nimmo. She is survived by Jadi Gosnell her wife of 37 years; brother John Nimmo (Linda) of Oregon; her sister Marian Woodman of San Luis Obispo; nieces and nephew Anna, Alaina, Christine, and Paul; best friends Shelley, Elizabeth, and Rose; and beloved pets Jack, Pelle, and Ruby.

We will honor, celebrate, and remember Barbara’s life with a gathering at a later date.

We are so appreciative of the care Barbara received from Dr. Julian Davis, his staff and nurses at UCLA Health in Santa Barbara, from the nurses at Cottage Hospital Infusion Center, and VNA Health. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in memory of Barbara Nimmo to the Foodbank Of Santa Barbara County. 1525 State St. Ste. 100 Santa Barbara, CA 93101 or online www.foodbanksbc.org
