The UCSB Women's Chorus presents an evening of American song, conducted by Helena von Rueden. From haunting settings of African-American spirituals to rare Canadian folk gems, playful pieces by Irving Fine, and works by Ned Rorem and Santa Barbara's own Emma Lou Diemer, the choir will feature the unique sounds of America. Not to be missed, "American Portrait" will also highlight solo and ensemble performances by students of the UCSB Voice Area!
