This Sunday, September 23, the Channel City Kennel Club will host Responsible Dog Ownership Day from noon-3 p.m. at Girsh Park (behind Costco, on the grass in front of the clubhouse). At the event, Channel City Kennel Club will offer onsite microchipping for the AKC companion animal recovery program (allowing any vet or animal shelter to read the number on the microchip and contact the AKC, which will then check its records to identify the dog and his or her owners, and reunite the family); the Canine Good Citizen Test (an AKC certification program designed to reward dogs who have excellent manners at home and in the community); dancing with your dog demonstrations; an information table with educational dog info; rally demonstrations; a ring in which owners can rally with their own dogs; and more.
