    Counselor in Training (S.B.)

    The S.B. Family YMCA’s CITs are volunteers, work with a counselor, and are responsible for the care, planning, and delivery of all programs for campers ages 5-14 at YMCA summer day camps. Maturity, enthusiasm, communication, decision-making skills, responsibility, and an outgoing personality are encouraged. CITs receive CPR/first-aid training and certificates. Grades 8-11.     Culinary Crash Course

    Your teen will learn how to identify what they’re really craving, tools, and techniques that build confidence in the kitchen and ease their transition into adulthood.     Lifeguard Training

    Lompoc Family YMCA Leaders in Training Camp

    The Leaders in Training program is designed to prepare those entering grades 6-8 to become a Counselor in Training while still enjoying the benefits of our traditional day camp.     YMCA Counselors/Leaders in Training

    Counselor in Training (CIT) teens learn how to supervise children, complete all required community service hours, go on exciting field trips, and more.     Montecito Family YMCA White-Water Rafting

    S.B. Channels Student Video Production Workshop

    Learn fundamentals of broadcast television, camera operation, lighting, production, and broadcast. Small, professionally mentored teams develop, shoot, and prepare for broadcast their own short productions. Certification in field camera operation and studio production enable students to create their own productions in the future to be aired at the Santa Barbara Channels.     S.B. YMCA Leadership Camp

    Designed for children entering Junior High. Explore the environment, develop leadership skills, organize, and execute a fitness program, take road trips to beaches, local lakes, and other YMCAs, participate in community service projects, make new friends, and have a blast! 7:30am-6pm. S.B. Family YMCA Teen Center. $145 per week (including $25 non-refundable deposit required to reserve spot). Grades 7-8.

    Summer Late Nights 2008

    The city’s Teen Programs brings you the summer-long party that never ends. Sign up for trips to Southern California’s best theme parks. All trips and events start and end at the Twelve35 Teen Center. Fee includes park ticket, bus ride, and a light snack.     S.B. Summer Stock Youth Theater

    Sequoia Lake Teen Camp

    Located in Miramonte, California, on Sequoia Lake. Activities include archery, crafts, lake swimming, hiking, and rock climbing wall, and campfires.     Teen Adventure Caravan to S.F.

    Teens will trek across the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier #39, experience a Ropes Course, ice skate on the 1960 Winter Olympics rink, and enjoy river rafting.     Twelve35 Teen Center

    Teens have access to XBOX 360, PS3, Wii, full DDR system, the Internet, Air Hockey, pool table, Foosball, free wi-fi, snack bar, and a recording studio. Weekly activities, classes, and special events are offered throughout the year. Community service opportunities available for teens and adults. Open Mon.-Thu., 2:30-7pm; Fri., 2:30-9pm; Sat.12:35-6pm; Closed on Sundays and holidays. For info and summer hours, call 882-1235.

    Water Safety Instructor Course

    Earn your certification to teach all levels of swimming to all ages. This 34-hour course is an opportunity to learn teaching techniques, stroke development, and swimming skills. F.I.T. training included. Must pass pre-test to participate.
