The Santa Barbara County and City Fire departments assisted the Montecito Fire Department in rescuing a man who slid down a short hill near Rattlesnake Canyon on Monday afternoon.
The man, who apparently suffered moderate head, back, and wrist injuries, was lifted from the area by a county helicopter that landed just above the trail where he slid. The helicopter transported the man to La Cumbre Junior High, where he was taken via ambulance to Cottage Hospital for treatment.

The trails remain damp from recent rains. Use caution.
