Father Virgil Cordano was a most wonderful individual. My husband, Patrizio, and I first met Father Virgil 33 years ago when we were fortunate enough to have him baptize our son, Christian, at the Mission. Over the following years, we saw him often — especially at Fiesta — and he and Patrizio would speak in Italian about their mutual love of the Genovese.
Just a few days before his passing, we sent Father Virgil a set of pictures of Favale di Molvaro, the home of his ancestors, as we knew how much he enjoyed that area. The world was a better place with Father Virgil in it, and he will be deeply missed, but I am sure the Angels are happy to have him Home.
