    CONFERENCE CALLS

    This week, Santa Barbara resident Brent Sumner picked up the $25,000 grand prize in Citrix’s GoToMeeting commercial contest. Sumner’s video ad for the online meeting service will also be put in the running for GoToMeeting’s national TV ad campaign.

    REYNOLDS SCORES BIG

    Westmont College’s Reynolds Gallery was recently awarded a grant to the tune of $113,000 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The money, which will be matched by the school, will be put toward managing the gallery’s permanent collection. For details, visit westmont.edu.

    BRING IN DA NOISE

    The inaugural New Noise Santa Barbara music festival, slated for the second weekend in October, recently announced it will bring Michael Franti & Spearhead to the Arlington Theatre on Thursday, October 8. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 28, at the Arlington box office (1317 State St.), or online at ticketmaster.com.
