Top winners from Art From Scrap’s annual assemblage art show were announced last week, with Bari Ramoy taking home first prize of $200 for her entry “Fire Story.” Ron Robertson’s “Music of the Spheres” and Mitsuko Conner Newland’s “Mine” took home second and third, respectively. The show is currently on display at the AFS Gallery (302 E. Cota St.) through July 25.


Pumpflix is currently hosting an online short film competition for amateur filmmakers in S.B. County. Entrants are asked to make a creative 15- or 30-second short, and winning entries will be played on more than 30 gas pump monitors around S.B. and Goleta. Visit for contest rules and info.
