    THE NEW ALTERNATIVE

    The Lobero Theatre is teaming up with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival to present the Alternative Film Series, taking place Fridays from July 10 through August 28. Films include American Violet (July 10), Goodbye Solo (July 17), Tokyo Sonata (Aug. 14), and others. For season or individual screening tickets, call 963-0761 or visit lobero.com.

    FUNDING THE FUTURE

    The Ojai Film Society recently launched its 2009 scholarship drive with a matching donation of $2,000, provided by an anonymous donor. The scholarship will be awarded to a film student at Brooks Institute in Ventura. For information about donating, or to fill out an application, visit ojaifilmsociety.org.
