The L.A.-based writer received a PhD in American history from UCLA, and currently is working on a social history of gardens for HarperCollins Publishers titled American Eden: From the Thirteen Colonies to the Present, What Our Gardens Tell Us About Who We Are. Graham is a trustee of Salt Lake City’s Glen Canyon Institute, dedicated to restoring the canyons of the Colorado River, and editor of Hidden Passage, institute’s journal.
