Benefit Golf Tournament for Firefighters Taking Participant Reservations

• Reservations currently are being taken for participants in this year’s S.B. County Firefighters’ Benevolent Foundation’s Golf Tournament, a yearly benefit to support families of firefighters stricken in the line of duty, fund scholarships for children of fallen firefighters, and, this year, to raise funds for two firefighters battling cancer. The event will be held at Alisal Ranch (1054 Alisal Rd., Solvang) on May 15, but early registration is requested. Tickets are $125. Call 452-7104 for reservations and more info.

• The National Association of Letter Carriers is hosting is annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 9. The association asks anyone who is able to place non-perishable food item(s) in a bag next to their mailbox in the morning. A letter carrier will then pick it up at regular mail delivery time, and donate the food to an area food bank for you. Visit for more info.
