La Primavera Celebrations

Old Spanish Days Historic Event

Though Fiesta week isn’t until August 5-9, the unofficial kick-off is the La Primavera celebration, which takes place Sunday, May 17, 4-9 p.m. at the Carriage and Western Art Museum (129 Castillo St., 962-2353). In addition to dinner, dancing, and a silent auction, El Presidente Anthony Borgatello will reveal the official Fiesta Poster and Pin for 2009. And as a special treat, the Spirit of Fiesta will perform her first public dance for attendees. Make sure to don your Fiesta attire or western dudes for the event. Seating is limited. Tickets are $55 in advance; call the Old Spanish Days office at 962-8101. For more information, visit oldspanishdays-fiesta.org.
