Goleta Valley Beautiful Seeks Volunteers; MotionTheatre Dance Company to Host Fundraiser Gala


The Goleta Valley Beautiful organization needs volunteers to help with young tree care at Devereux Greenhouse (UCSB West Campus). Participants will help plant acorns and seedlings for the next generation of oak trees, along with pruning, irrigation, maintenance, mulching, composting, and more. The group’s next meeting is this Saturday, June 12, from 1-4 p.m. RSVPs are requested. Call 685-7910 for meet-up location or for more info.

MotionTheatre Dance Company will host its first annual fundraiser and auction next Saturday, June 19, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the S.B. Greek Orthodox Church (1205 San Antonio Creek Rd.). The event will include a dance performance by members of the dance company—an S.B.-based nonprofit organization—plus silent and live auctions, Brazilian dance music by Teka, refreshments, and more. Tickets are $40-$50/person or $75-$85/couple; student tickets are $20/person. Call 455-1955 for more info.
