Goleta Valley Beautiful to Plant Trees at 7 Schools for California Arbor Week


What: Goleta Valley Beautiful is hosting a 7 tree planting events to celebrate California Arbor week. Nine trees will be planted at different sites by volunteers including local officials, dedicated volunteers and student. These plantings will also be an opportunity to honor Jay Sullivan who will be retiring as Manager of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation for the Goleta Union School District

Why: The purpose of California Arbor Week is to promote the important effects trees have on our lives and our communities.

Through collaboration with volunteers, local officials, the support of California ReLeaf and the work of local organizations,

California Arbor Week is sure to make a positive impact in Goleta Valley.

Visual and Interview Opportunities Include:

  • Jay Sullivan will be participating in all events on Wednesday March 9th only.
  • Council member Ed Easton will be at Kellogg on 3/9 at 12:45 pm
  • Council member Michael T. Bennett will be at La Patera on 3/10 at 11:15 am
  • Mayor Margaret Connell will be at Brandon on 3/11 at 10:10 am
