Bobby Martinez Advances in Billabong Rio Pro

Bobby Martinez of Santa Barbara, California, USA (pictured) narrowly edged- out Australia Matt Wilkinson to advance into Round 3 of the Billabong Rio Pro in Brasil on Wednesday May 18, 2011.

Martinez will face 10X ASP World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) in the next round.

The Billabong Rio Pro is event Stop No. 3 of 11 on the men’s ASP World Title Tour featuring the World’s Top 33 surfers plus one wildcard. Running in conjunction with the Billabong Rio Pro is stop No. 5 of 7 on the ASP Women’s World Tour featuring the ASP Top 17 women.
