School on Wheels Needs Volunteer Tutors; Art for Animals Show and Sale Will Raise Money for the Santa Barbara Humane Society

• School on Wheels is a nonprofit organization that provides tutoring services and school supplies to homeless children. The group is currently expanding its services in S.B. County and is seeking volunteers who can commit to one hour per week to tutor and mentor a homeless child in their own community. Call 641-1678 or visit schoolonwheels.org for information about upcoming volunteer training sessions.

• Jodi House (625 Chapala St.) will host this week’s Art for Animals Art Show and Sale, a fundraiser for the S.B. Humane Society originally spearheaded by 8-year-old Maya Lewandowski. The event will feature artwork by area artists, live music by cellist Zachary McGee, and more. Art for Animals runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 18. Admission is free. Call 964-8326 for more info.
