Competition for Carbajal?


Carole Lieff, a Montecito resident who has in recent months become more and more outspoken about county employee salaries and pensions, told The Santa Barbara Independent she plans to take on 1st District Supervisor Salud Carbajal as he seeks his third term in office. Lieff, who lists her current occupation on her Web site as “Freedom Fighter & Sh** Disturber,” said, “This is not an ego trip for me. I’m trying to save this county. If I have to run for, or be, supervisor to do that, then that’s what I suppose I’ll have to do.” She faces an uphill climb against Carbajal, a popular, well-financed politician.
