Jerrell William Yearego

His last known address is 1529 Meadow Circle in Carpinteria. Neighbors reporting seeing him in the last few days, and authorities believe he is still in the area. Yearego, 64 years old, is 5'7”, 150 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He is possibly driving a 2011 black Chevy Tahoe with license plate number 6PBS249. (The Sheriff's “Active Warrant" Web site can be seen here.)

It appears Yearego, who has gone by Jerry Yaeger in the past, has been dodging authorities for years. An article published in a South Carolina newspaper in 1994 states Yearego was arrested for conning area businesses and residents out of $4,000. He was arrested in Utah on that charge. During the manhunt, law enforcement agents tracked him throughout the country, at one point following his trail to Hawaii.

If you have information on Yearego’s whereabouts, please contact the Sheriff’s Felony Fugitive Unit at (805) 681-4142 or the Sheriff’s Anonymous Tip Line at (805) 681-4171.
