Goleta House Fire Quickly Knocked Down

Significant Damage Reported but No Injuries

Santa Barbara County firefighters quickly doused a small structure fire in Goleta Tuesday afternoon. It was reported at 2:22 p.m., and three engines, a ladder truck, an ambulance, and a battalion chief responded to the scene, said County Fire spokesperson David Sadecki.

Crews found black smoke billowing from the second story of a family home at 209 Hillview Drive and quickly attacked the fire, which gutted one upstairs bedroom and caused smoke damage throughout the second floor.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
