Then join Emily Yurcheshen on a musical journey into your creative heart.

Emily is a gifted healer, teacher and musician who is shining her light on Santa Barbara. A recent transplant from San Luis Obispo, Emily has moved to Carpenteria to pursue her dreams as a songwriter and musical guide for anyone who has a dream to discover the music within.

Ten years ago Emily was called on a healing odyssey around the world. She trekked the hills of Nepal, watched a cremation ghat on the Ganges River and landed a two-year teaching contract in Portugal where she taught in an American International High School. She was teaching literature at the time but began developing her skills as a musician.

She took her dusty Martin guitar out of the dark closet where it sat for six years and decided to start taking lessons. Soon after, she birthed her first song. Songs and stories poured forth from her soul. Each one held a kernal of truth that supported her on her Hero’s Journey. As Emily’s creative heart burst open, people were attracted to her light. She started leading creativity workshops that eventually led her into life coaching and teaching both classes and private lessons in voice, guitar, piano, and ukulele. Through playful technical exercises and intuitive play, Emily has coached thousands along the path providing playful ways to discover the music within their own hearts.

Emily is currently teaching classes for Kindermusik, an international children’s music program directed by maestro teacher Kathy Hayden. She is offering guitar, ukulele and songwriting classes at the Notre Dame school in downtown Santa Barbara.

When Emily is not composing on the beach, or teaching, she is promoting her business Peaceworks Communications. The mission of this one-woman organization is to promote personal and planetary peace through music and creativity. Her goal is to lead retreats around to world to help people learn the language of music to communicate from a heart-centered place the peace, joy and love we all share.

Emily will be performing with her Odyssey group and Michael Morse, a local rock favorite, on Nov. 14 for a benefit concert for the Paso Robles Art Association. She will playing songs from her recently released Odyssey c.d.

In addition to private lessons, Emily will offer an ongoing workshop called Songwriting for Soul starting in October. For more information for classes, workshops, and private lessons, please contact Emily at (805) 458-3987 or visit her website at click here
