Money Mouth

Riffing on comments that small businesses are not inherently examples of corporations organized with kindness and generosity.

By Rachel Hoyt

Large or small,

Rich or poor,

Local or worldwide,

The pay wall

And profit floor

Have a human guide.

Don’t assume

The little guys

Are less full of greed.

Power zooms

Each time we buy.

Proceed at cautious speeds.

Cash can talk.

When it speaks,

How does it speak of you?

Dollars walk.

Steps seem meek,

Yet each holds vast value.
