Vandenberg Deploys 12 to Afghanistan

During a farewell ceremony with friends and family, 12 Vandenberg Air Force Base personnel departed from the Lompoc installation at 1:30 a.m. on 3/24 on their way to Afghanistan. All part of the base’s 560-member Security Forces Squadron, the dozen range in rank from airman first class to technical sergeant. “Having the largest deployment numbers in the Air Force for Security Forces has its challenges, said Lt. Col. Gerald Mulhollen in a statement, “but the members of this unit understand that when their number is called to go, they go and take care of business.”
