Most Americans supported President Obama’s boycott of the Olympic games in Sochi. We pointed a finger at the Russians, sending a loud message that as Americans we will not tolerate violations of human rights, affirming once again that “we” are the good guys, you are the bad.

How can America point a finger at any country with states like Kansas and Arizona governing its citizens with the blind morality of the dark ages by unabashedly threatening and violating the rights of gays and lesbians?

America needs President Obama to stand by her and guide her through the night with a Light from above. That Light blesses every human being from the mountains and the prairies to the ocean white foam … I thought this was a land we all love.

America's right to point fingers ended long ago Bruce. You have many categories to pick from.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed the law, so there should be no issue here. If one says "well yeah but there are a lot of people who supported it there, you can apply that logic to anywhere in the world because no matter where you go, there will always be people who don't think as we do.

Speaking of The Olympics, isn't it interesting that the U.S. boycotted the 1980 Olympics in Russia because of the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan when years later the U.S. also invaded Afghanistan?

I sometimes think liberals are actually disappointed that Brewer vetoed the bill.

tru dat, Botany. And I often think conservatives like JohnLocke and you are surprised that the "liberal" 9th Circuit Court of Appeals loosened gun restrictions significantly. We're all a bit stuck in our positions, like dolphinpod is stuck in his watery medium.

"Speaking of The Olympics, isn't it interesting that the U.S. boycotted the 1980 Olympics in Russia because of the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan when years later the U.S. also invaded Afghanistan?" I'm in stitches! Yeah, spot on!

Everyone should invade Afghanistan at least once.

I would add to Ken comment by saying don't confuse liberals with progressives.

I wanted to scream out the window when John Kerry said this on Sunday-
" Russia is engaged in a military act of aggression ...by invading another country on completely trumped up pre-text".
Wow , how can he say that with a straight face when the ashes still haven't settled over Iraq? Jeesh ... dumb effen things our leaders say to the world on our behalf.

The russian law says zero about homosexuals. It is basically a law to keep mtv style degradation of youth out of that country. The reason you see so much hoopla about it is because viacom (parent company of mtv) has made it into an issue so they wont lose money in russia. I applaud russia for sticking to their guns and actually acting on this instead of sitting around bitching about the sorry state of our youth. Homosexualty is a sex act, not a lifestyle, and it does a disservice to gays to say they should all this adopt this ridiculous flamboyant in your face attitude that is being exacerbated by the cultural marxists for their own ends.

Youth love MTv hedonism, let them be young. People were saying the same thing about Elvis and Maurice Chevalier, Al Jolson and Sarah Bernhardt.

I feel much better now: The Good Old Days of the Cold War have returned.

Who'd a thunk that all the flag waving patriots would, 20 years after the cold war, root on a russian dictator over our own president? WOW and they downplay the race card when O is more Reagan than Reagan ever was. (see the hypocrites...) Yes, why not applaud this? If you have to ask (redbunz), you'll never know.

Yes, putin is a prick, but he is the only major world leader with the balls to stand up to israel and he is the sole reason we are not in syria right now. And there is no comparison of the extreme degradation we see in todays culture to that of the past, unless younare talking about berlin in the 20s or ancient rome.
