Nominations Sought for Positive Policing Award

The Santa Barbara Optimist Club is seeking nominations for the 2015 Kirby Duncan Positive Policing Award, an annual award recognizing men and women of the Santa Barbara Police Department who made outstanding positive contributions to the community. The award takes its name from former SBPD captain and Optimist Club member Kirby Duncan, who served on the force for 31 years. Nominations can be made on the SBPD website ( or by email to the Santa Barbara Optimist Club ( The winner will be announced in late spring at an awards ceremony.
