Who Can Win?

I received in the mail today an advertising card from the California Republican Party that purports to slam Democratic congressional candidate Bill Ostrander for being too similar to Bernie Sanders. Were it not for the Republican Party mailer, nobody would know who Ostrander is.

Democrats should not be confused or misled by this dirty tactic. Republicans are hoping that Bernie Sanders supporters will vote for Ostrander in the June primary instead of the leading Democratic candidates — Salud Carbajal and Helene Schneider.

If Democrats divide their votes, Republicans hope to push one or both of their leading candidates into the top two spots for the November runoff election. Do not be fooled. Ostrander is no threat to Republicans in the general election. Please vote for a Democratic candidate who is most able to win in November.
