The fire finally reaches Lizard's Mouth and the troops begin backfiring out. Just west all is going well on the Winchester Saddle part of the ridgeline. It appears this part of the ridge will hold despite the dramatics. (by Ray Ford)

The fire perimeter began to shift towards the west with the flames moving towards Condor Peak and the crest. The fire was also very active along the area from Windermere to the Gun Club as well. By Ray Ford

On the 4th of July the Gap Fire began to push up towards the Haney Tract on West Camino Cielo and towards the Trout Club. Fortunately, the wind pushed back and with 100,000+ gallons of fire retardant the fire did not make it up to the homes. By Ray Ford
