Joseph Scheurn, 32, tested positive for a substantial quantity of methamphetamine, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Chuck Jones on Thursday.
A reportable amount of methamphetamine in someone’s blood can be measured starting at 5 nanograms per milliliter, Jones said, and Scheurn’s blood had 830 nanograms per milliliter.
Neither other illegal substances nor alcohol were found in Scheurn’s system, according to Jones.
Report Abusememyselfni - September 09, 2012 2:59 pmDid a little research.... Standardized levels for urine and blood drug tests established by the international regulating authorities. These levels are reviewed and updated periodically. The detectable methamphetamine levels in your body are expressed in nanograms per milliliter solution and start at 1,000 nanograms per milliliter (not 5) according to this.
830 nanograms = 8.30,000,000,000th of a gram is under the detectable amt.A nanogram is about 0.000000001 (one billionth) of a gram. There are 100,000,000 nanograms in one gram.
Methamphetamine is detectable in blood for 1-3 days. Results of a test show the presence or absence of specific drugs or drug metabolites in the system. Metabolites are drug residues that remain in the system for some time after the effects of the drug have worn off. A positive test does not necessarily mean the subject was under the influence of drugs at the time of the test. Rather, it detects and measures use of a particular drug within the previous few days or more. It is not possible to know if these levels are toxic without knowing how long before the blood testing the drugs were taken, and it is also affected by many other things.
You can probably find variable info on this, yet, that would be another point, right. As long as something was found, it can be confirmed as the cause and blame for whatever or whoever is in question. The statement that he was "under the influence" is questionable at best. But who's gonna argue it? Ya, that's why they call it "DOPE". Not a good thing and has negative consequences. Incidents such as this included.
There are some people who know better than to believe all the BS that gets thrown at 'em, and those who don't. I can say for myself that I do. Sad thing is that it really doesn't matter to most and makes no difference in the outcome. Don't necessarily want to see someone else blamed. Just hate to see manipulation used to blame. Especially involving a life that is no longer able to defend itself.PS The CHP officer who slammed into 2 parked vehicles had NOTHING in his system? Really? So much for the arresting officers judgement and probable cause, right? Why did his results come back so quickly compared to Joes? Wonder if they had to SQEEEZE that s--t out of him! (or if its even accurate) Timing is everything! remember this.....

Check this out homie that was my boy he was a good person and a real person I'm besties bestest best friend the other half of the dead guy and the other half of the best friend, there are no excuses for breaking the law, he was on speed but she was speeding, I rather take my chances with the guy on meth coming at me rather than a speeding none respecting for life or death heading for a reckless abandon that is mrs. Maldonado everyday life. I hope that anybody that sees this will understand that he's was high and she was speeding but he's dead and she's not. What's fair bout that nothing, Oxford ave smv 805. - SkiTZ0

No I don't , if I do it has nothing to do with it oh just another tweaker. Don't judge a person because they do drugs not all people are scandolous. But for the most part a lot of them are, they do what they do to get high. That's their problem, my friend worked hard everyday has a family, he had a hard life. Growing up, it is his fault but she is to blame also. Just like i said had it been the other way around he would be sitting in jail but at least I would still have him. Even if anyone else's was driving they would also be in jail. They are just trying to blame him because he was high. They will put the blame on any one who's on drugs.there are honest good hearted. People out there that use. And what because they use they are scum dirt bags all you hipocrits, like you people are all angels. Please I feel that she is to blame as much as him . Tell me this since all you people are with Maldonado why did they go out of their way to clean it up after it happened I'm mean straight clean no sign of any accident that's not right . They tell their version of the story only what they want you to know . They didn't have to tell you he was high on meth they could have kept it under raps but no always quick to throw someone under the bus even when their dead. She might as well kill him again. She at fault also and I'll keep saying it . She aint no victim she drives erractly fast thru there everyday. I hope you learn the speed limits and laws of driving lady. You can not get home any faster to have another drink of water.

This whole article is wrong she was speeding because if u could see the first video released by kcoy 12. The officer claims he stopped , proceeded and was struck by her traveling at 65, then in another they said he ran the stop sign she was traveling at 55, either way she was speeding yes she was and she knows it, it s 45 around those turns and numerous signs that say hills block view caution blind intersection. Now either way he was doing a california roll which is bout 5, if she was doing the limit I don't think it would have been fatal and I d still have my friend maybe all banged up but he'd still be here, and sitting in jail because it would have been his fault either way, he's on drugs he's high he runs stop signs for the fun of it, she killed him and he gets the toxicology test, her and her son were not transported to the hospital after the accident, they didn't show up to the hospital until hours after the accident and then went thru all the protocol procedures she should have been treated as if it were anyone else who killed someone, screen at the sight tested but no the officers failed to do their jobs and let her refuse treatment, why ????? Was that hmmm and why did they have someone clean up the car wreck right after it happened to cover up, i went my self out there that night there was no sign of any wreck , who does that?? And they are all so being consider ant of mrs. Maldonado she didn't even get hurt trying to act like she's the victim she's not dead my friend is, if it had been the other way around or had it be me or anyone else we would be sitting in jail, so y isn't she. She s not all squeaky clean herself she so went home to sober up, for sure who would refuse treatment after that bad of an accident, and they let her, not only that every article video on the wreck is not on the news achieves , all comments erased ,you try typing his name in nothing comes up, but you type in maldonado and it will say victims in car accident , killed driver high on meth. Just because he was a drug user doesn't make it right, oh well put the blame on him he's dead, just another doped head of our streets, well guess what they got a million more . What ever this is wrong for them to just brush it off like nothing, he wasn't nobody not like her and her husband lets not forget everyone has a pass. I wont bash her and put out sum dirt that I know I won't be like them trying to put the blame on a dead person. So that makes it right, and for those of you who think you got the story right maybe you should research and see for yourself,

It's not fair he was a human being, a person, if it had been the other way around.he would be sitting in jail, it doesn't matter if he ran the red light his brakes didn't work, now they are trying to say he was high on meth so WHAT!!! HE'S DEAD, and she gets to Rome free as a bird ain't that sum stinky shhh. This whole situation is foul to the core, she needs to be locked up and pay her debt, could even pay for a proper funeral, no memorial, she s no saint everyone has a past. Why do they need to smear him still and she gets all the credit, just killed another doped head one down millions to go.thats right run us all over.live with guilt karma.
