Sad that someone groovy like Lane Anderson can't get elected because he doesn't play the "political" game. I have hopes for my homeboy David Pritchett but the forces against him are mobilizing. Maybe because he has a chance to beat the Democratic insider trio and he has way more to offer than the Van Wolf-backed candidates. (Have you ever listened carefully to Michael Self or Frank Hotchkiss? They are uninformed.) Now Travis Armstrong at the News-Suppress is attacking Pritchett. Watch your back, dude!

Send a simple message, man. Don't vote for the Van Wolf candidates. There are many others in the race: liberal, conservative, in-between. Do a little shopping, just not at Whole Foods.

Right on, Independent. Except for the Measure B recommendation (I generally want less development in my city) I like your picks. David and Bendy helped stop luxury homes being built along Las Positas. Grant's wife is a great lady. I think they are strong enough to beat the developer-backed candidates: HotChicks and Michael (is that a woman?) Self. People will be able to see through all that super-funded propaganda from Texas developer Van Wolfswinkel, purse strings for HotChicks and Selfish. Apologies to the Dianne fan above. She doesn't have the oomph to be an effective leader.

It's the spirit of protest, man. Interrupt business as usual. And the demonstrations were all over the state, as UC campuses. I support them. California is making bad decisions about spending priorities. What is more important than education?
People worry about gangs and unemployment, domestic violence. If every child had a good education, that's one step ahead of joining a gang, or falling into poverty. Education = self-esteem = good life choices = healthy relationships. Magic, baby.

I smoked a bowl and watched this on TV last night. If Francisco becomes mayor, watch out for the "tone" of council meetings. He has been treating some SB residents (and voters) as hostile witnesses under cross-examination when they speak at public comment. Yikes.

Cruz is a righteous Chicano activist, cool dude. Not sure if he has the right experience and connections to get elected. He's coming out of left field, no pun intended.

The photo reminds me of John Thyne's TV commercial where he walks around in front of the police station presenting himself as a public safety champion. Uh, this is the guy who's been convicted of DUI, then caught a second time drinking and driving? Political season is goofy! Another example: the fire guys endorse Bendy White, but I've seen him on Channel 18 during the forums saying he wants to cut employees salaries. So maybe he's promised not to cut THEIR salaries? Last thought, Michael Self and Frank Hotchkiss have got to give me something more than criticizing bulbouts and selling real estate.

Kiss away Penny! Things will eventually change and we will have acceptance for same-sex kissing in public. I watch Star Trek and am waiting for all that enlightenment in the future.

What a pleasant-faced man. I want to eat his food! Congratulations to Indy for having George Yatch on their staff.

I also heard Michael Self refer to "Alice Keck Park," like the woman's name is Alice Keck and here's her park. Her name is Alice Keck Park, and the proper name of the park is Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens. This is a small point, but it shows Self is not in touch with Santa Barbara important details, and I bet she's never smoked a doobie in that park either. About her radio comments, was she lying about the police union? Maybe she just didn't know, which is worse. No vote for Self.
