Agree with all of the above posters -- ask residents for their ID... we do after all live in a Disneyland kinda place LOL

Blaming visitors who bolster our local economy on the reason for giving this up is so friggin' lame Mr. Feinberg.

What's the real reason you're abandoning this perk?

Ducknsb.... Allow me to correct your post -- the Western Snowy Plover is indeed a threatened species as is their habitat. Not like all other plovers in their grouping, they serve an specific purpose in nature as do all creatures. The health of threatened and endangered species is strongly linked to our own well-being. By taking action to protect imperiled native fish, wildlife and plants, we can ensure a healthy future for our communities.
Sands Beach @ Coal Oil Point has a terrific Snowy Plover Docent program that has been able to keep the beach open for people AND birds with just a little bit of education. I prefer to share my beaches with the wildlife who make all of our lives that much richer & better.

Can't wait to see what Jeff Mills has in store for us... his work for Boxtales theatre Co. in "The Odyssey" and in "Om" were electric and eclectic. Further work @ the U and with the Piano Kitchen only cemented his talent for me. I'll be going to see this and hope everyone who reads this will too ! See you in the audience ;)

Salute! This is such an excellent piece of writing - thanks to Matt for bringing this story to life. I had no idea of all the ups and downs Richard & Thekla have faced and still continue to make some of the best wines, and on their terms. Taking risks is the backbone of being an entreprenuer and I sincerely hope the Sanford's only have success from this point forward. He surely does deserve all of the honors and accolades IMHO. Congratulations. I posted it on my page so my friends back East can learn more about Sanford and Alma Rosa.
